Independence Day: FG Declares Thursday a Public Holiday

The Federal Government has declared Thursday, October 1st, 2015, as public holiday to mark her 55th Independence celebration from 1960 to 2015.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Abubakar Magaji, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement signed by the ministry’s Director of Press, Yusuf Isiaka, on Monday.

The Permanent Secretary, who congratulated all Nigerians both at home and in diaspora,  also thanked them for their support to President Muhammadu Buhari in his efforts towards building a peaceful, united and virile nation.

He further urged them to use the occasion of the celebration to pray for peace and unity across the nation.
