The Delta state police have apprehended a 19-year-old cultist, Ikechukwu Azubuike, who already confessed membership in a group titled Spy Cult and is suspected of killing three people.
In a statement to the press, Celestina Kalu, the Delta state police public relations officer, said Ikechukwu was arrested by police detectives on September 21 at the Obiuaruku Motor Park, behind the Catholic Hospital. The suspect was attempting to leave town.
Ikechukwu is suspected of killing three people in the Obiaruku community, Ukwuani local government area of the state.
Kalu said that the suspect was being interrogated and had already confessed to be a member of a criminal group operating in the area, known as the Spy Cult.
She said the suspect was being held in custody, while investigation into his cult activities is ongoing.
