Various media reports have revealed that WhatsApp and Google are partnering to bring Google Drive support to the instant messaging service.

This new feature will give users the ability to create private backups of their chat history, voice messages, photos, and videos in Google Drive to help keep data for later use.

The data which is backed up will be encrypted on the drive, and can be restored on any device the users pleases.

Techloy reports that Google has said that the new feature has already started rolling out to users of the WhatsApp service but could take a few months to reach the about 1 billion users of the WhatsApp service
